Fall Is Here...

It snuck up on us but fall is definitely here! Eric and I just spent the Labor Day weekend in Pennsylvania with my family. We went to one of my best friends from high school's wedding reception and a big family picnic. We all had so much fun! We were able to keep Addi on schedule which was a huge improvement from the last time we traveled. In June. Addi was up every hour and a half because she was so miserable off her schedule! We were all miserable. But this time was wonderful and she even slept longer than she does at home! On the way home she even slept the entire way, 6 hours in the car. I guess my little girl is growing up and not surprisingly, these changes I can appreciate!

I loved spending time with my family. I even drug my Dad to the outlet mall under the guise of watching Addi while my Mom and I shopped! It worked and we got sweet deals! Addi is growing so much and her clothes won't fit her much longer! Now we have 2 Halloween costumes and a Halloween outfit, a Christmas dress and Reindeer pajamas and lots of cute everyday things for Addi to grow into! Thanks, Mom and Carter's for the big sale!

We also got Addi's dedication dress, I love it! I can't believe it is this weekend. It means so much to us and both of our families are coming into town. My Great-Uncle gave us a card at church since he won't be able to make it up to MA. It really got me thinking. The dedication is very symbolic, especially for me. During my pregnancy and then when Addi was sick I fought hard to keep control. I had no desire to give Addi to God or even to share her. I was so scared He would take her away. I had no trust and little faith. I was so scared. It has been a long process to regain that faith. Like I thought somehow I could do it better, love and care for her better. I have realized I can't. Her dedication will be a symbol of this, Eric and I giving Addi back to God after He gave her to us. We are so thankful for her. Beautiful.

Each year since we got married, Eric and I go back to the same park to take pictures and this time was Addi's first time. It has been something I have dreamed about since we got married and it was wonderful to be back and remember that day. Now our family is complete. For now. I can't help but think about our second baby. I miss having a little baby and I really miss being pregnant. It isn't the right time now but I am definitely looking forward to that time. It will be a blessing!

Before we left I had my first class. It was difficult to leave Addi even though she was all smiles and when I got home she was blissfully asleep. The class went great and I am looking forward to getting into the content.
I even almost forgot that I was getting paid! Yay! I think it is going to be a great semester. We are so lucky that we have a great nanny and I only have to leave Addi for an hour at a time.

Awe
Updates: (I was so busy I haven't been able to blog!) I was very close to being right on about Addi's weight and height! 14 pounds and 6 ounces and 26 and 1/4 inches! That puts her into the 95% percentile for her height! Tall and skinny! The nurse practitioner let us know that this made sense because of my bed rest. For the first 6 months babies grow according to my pregnancy and we'll see genetics take over around 6 months. We will see... I can't believe our next appointment will be her 6th month! Time is going so fast.

Our budget is still working! We cut hundreds of dollars and have been much more intentional about spending money. It feels good. Oh, and I lost 2 more pounds from eating so well! That feels good too. We had our fireplace insert installed, it looks fabulous and we can't wait to use it! Our wood is being delivered today as well.
Our Family
Well, I don't have much more to say except life is good. This fall is going to be a wonderful one and we have so much to look forward to. I am feeling especially optimistic because Addi went to bed at 8:30pm and work up at 7:30am! Then I fed her and we were both back in bed from 8:00am to 11:00am. Oh sleep, how I love you. My princess is up from her second nap of the day. Time to go...
