Twinsies 6 Months

Time... SLOW DOWN!

I can hardly believe my babes are half a year old. We had a little party to celebrate today, complete with singing "Happy Birthday" and their first baby food- sweet potatoes! It was a lot of fun and they seemed to really enjoy it. These babies are just wonderful. Growing and thriving in every way.

The girls each about 6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours 5 times a day. They eat at 7:00pm and again at 6:00am. They are good sleepers but have been struggling with allergies lately which causes them to wake up at night congested. Hubby usually brings them downstairs early in the morning so they can sleep upright. So for now, the babes are staying with us and not transitioning to the big girl room. This is totally okay with me. I love having my babes close!

Miss Waverly is still a ball of energy! She is beginning to scoot around but really loves to roll. We find her with her bum under the couch all the time. Too funny, Wavey Baby. She talks all day long including yelling herself to sleep. I often find her on her side at bedtime talking very loudly to Esme until she falls asleep. She is too funny! She definitely sleeps less during the day than her sister but has a great morning nap routine going. I often say she is either happy or mad and it is true! No in between and she is mostly happy. She has kept her beautiful bright blue eyes and red hair and my hopes are up that they will be forever. She is still a little bit smaller than her sister but strong and chunky in her own right. A true joy, that one!

Miss Esme is as sweet as ever and on the go! Ezzie is busy army crawling all around growing teeth. Waves doesn't have any teeth yet but Esme has two. They both have had their sad days with teething and the fevers and tummy issues that go along with it but generally, they are tolerating these changes well. Esme is still my easy going girl- only either sad or happy but also mostly happy. She is more quite and less talkative than her sister but she loves to listen and play, especially with her big sisters. She loves to snuggle but only until she is ready to sleep, then she wants to be alone. All business!

It has been fun to watch the girls start to interact more. On the floor together they can be seen talking and giggling. They can also be found biting, licking, hitting and pulling one another. Depends on the day and the toy at stake. We find them in all kinds of funny configurations at night, usually with at least a part of them touching. It is an incredible bond they have and it is a privilege to watch up close.

At least once a week the hubby or I say- "We have 4 girls!!" I don't know if we fully believe it yet. That we are this lucky. We didn't know two people were missing and now we can't imagine life without them. Life is crazy and busy and LOUD, really really loud. But better than my wildest dreams.
