Making Up For Lost Time

How does time continue to get away from me? Oh yes, I have four kids! Four daughters to be exact. Holy moly! The time since I last wrote has been full of loving and caring for them which takes most of my waking (and non-waking) time and energy. Life is awesome. Here is a little about what has been going on...

Winter Wonderland

We had yet another amazing Christmas season with the girls including our gender reveal. Addi and Stella were so excited to learn they were having sisters and we had a wonderful time celebrating with all 4 generations. They loved the Boston Pops and Boston Ballet Nutcracker as always and continue to anticipate Jesus' birthday with much gusto.

Stella continued to go to school 3 days a week and loved every minute. She might be the friendliest girl to ever grace that place. She knows every child in every school and is developmentally right on track. Her favorite activities at school are playing outside and doing art projects. She got better are writing her letters and name as well. Our Tuesdays and Thursday at home together were super precious. She asked for hot chocolate every day and I was happy to oblige. The weather was pretty cold so we stayed in just spending time together trying to soak up every minute before Kindergarten.

Addi continued to grow and love Kindergarten. I couldn't be more proud of how she adjusted to her new school. She was given another Chinese friend to guide which she has really relished. Despite being in a special reading group, she continues to make strides in reading and excels in math. One smart cookie! I really enjoyed our time afterschool doing homework and talking about her day. She is becoming such a little girl and it is a privilege to watch her grow.

Both girls did a wonderful job at their holiday dance show and really enjoy time together. Don't get me wrong, they right like any other siblings but they do have a mutual love and trust for each other that makes my heart explode!

In February we traveled as a family to PA to see my family and have a baby sprinkle for the twins. It was so much fun to be with everyone and prepare for our family to grow. The anticipation grew(along with my belly)!

Spring Flings

This spring, most of our lives revolved around getting these babies here safe and sound so our lives were shaken up quite a bit. Between modified bed rest, multiple weekly appointments and a stint as an inpatient on the maternity ward, I was sidelined quite a bit. Addi asked me why my belly was getting so big and both girlies couldn't stop loving on their baby sisters. They told me every day they couldn't want for them to come.

Some days, Addi would worry when she was away from me and we started packing ultrasound pictures in her bag to see and show her friends. This seemed to work. Both girls worried when I was hospitalized but had fun visiting me and spending time with Daddy. I can't say enough how amazing my baby daddy is! Stella learned from him how to take care of me and helped me do everything from pick things up to put on my slippers. Precious girl.

Because I needed more rest, Stella needed to go to school full time. It was a very difficult decision but thankfully, she flourished! At her spring assessment (that we missed because, again, babies) she earned average or above average marks and she is absolutely on her way to being very successful in Kindergarten! When the babies arrived in late April, she was very excited to have them visit her school and meet her friends. She is one proud big sister! She continued to learn and grow in dance class culminating with a beautiful spring show and kicking butt in soccer. She is strong and athletic and we love watching her play.

Addi girl turned 6 on the day we brought her baby sisters home and she couldn't have been happier! She had hoped they would be born on her birthday but this seemed to be good enough. Like Stella, she is an adoring and proud big sister. She looks a little different these days after losing her first tooth but is as beautiful as ever. After being in a remedial reading program at school, she officially graduated and is doing so well! She reads to us and we are incredibly proud. She, too, continues to love dance and soccer and will be going to higher levels of both this fall.

Life is so good because these awesome bigs are in it! My heart is so full seeing them both as big sisters but that will have to wait until our next update on summer adventures...<3 p="">
